We’ve Come a Long Way
This year has been a year like no other, I think we would all agree. First COVID-19 and then recognizing how systemic racism is deeply ingrained in our own country. Crystal Clear Home has always advocated for BIPOC people, in our personal practices and beliefs, but also in who we employ, the Black Lives Matter movement is very important to us as a company. As a local business, we feel it is vital to outwardly show our support as we truly aim to better and reshape our community. The work begins at home.
As a woman-owned, and woman based company, we fully understand the importance of acceptance and support when faced with challenges surrounding privilege- therefore we feel it necessary that we do the work to embrace other minority groups.
A few of our cleaners have shared with us how they feel that they have learned so much working for Crystal Clear Home and they would like us to take a more active role in the community about helping people support BIPOC people. So with that thought in mind, we are sharing a few of the links they shared with us:

Giving Yourself Credit For Wins & Handling Losses
Every one of us has been through a lot this year. It’s important to gain perspective and look back in life when times can be stressful to see both your wins in life and how you handled and rallied with losses. Life gets so busy that it is so easy to generalize and not remember some of the details. Women so regularly push through and just keep going when challenges come our way, but it’s good to take perspective from time to time.
Whether you journal or do a gratitude list, both are helpful tools in examining life and gaining perspective. We happen to love gratitude lists since we believe what you focus on increases in your life, but it’s what will work best for you going forward. In retrospect, it’s good to take stock from time to time and give yourself credit for all the things you have accomplished.
Who have you been there for in life?
Who are those people that depend on you and can count on you on a daily basis? Make a list of all the people that you have helped get through their day, week, or year of challenges, including yourself.
What achievements have you given yourself credit for in life?
Many times we give ourselves a pass when it comes to our own achievements. We heap praise on others when they hit milestones or make goals, but we tend to be the hardest on ourselves with not giving ourselves credit for the wins in our lives. Our failures can stand out to us more than our triumphs, be sure to acknowledge your wins, it’s important!
The dreams that you hold on to and still believe will happen.
Keeping your dreams alive in a world that seems a little nuts at times and is bent on focusing on reality, can be tough on what dreams are made of. But, you have persisted in holding on to your dreams and believe they are possible. The rebels and dreamers have made the major changes happen in our world, as Steve Jobs pointed out many times.
The goals you have missed and the mistakes you have realized.
Each one of us that have reached for goals in life has missed a few, comes with the territory. No one gets through life without making some mistakes. Taking risks brings growth but it also brings the chance of making mistakes. It takes self-awareness to realize when you have missed the mark and to admit it. Most people don’t take responsibility for their part in mistakes, if you do, count your self ahead of the game and give yourself credit for seeing mistakes as learning situations.
The determination you possess.
Many people who can rise to challenges don’t give themselves credit for the tenacity and determination it takes to stay a course to the end. Take a look at all the setbacks you’ve experienced in life and the times you got push back from life. It takes strength to endure, meet the challenge, stay the course, and see your goals or a tough situation to the end. It’s called determination and commitment.
All the unhealthy situations you have walked away from.
When you realize that a job, situation, choice, or relationship is unhealthy, maybe even toxic that is so much tougher than any of us realize. Especially if you have a lot of feelings, time, or investment or all three in the unhealthy situation, job choice, or relationship. Knowing when to cut your losses and walk away takes real courage! Many times it’s the path less traveled. Any time you have known that a choice, job, or relationship is taking energy from you and giving very little back, it’s time to change course!
The love and support you give to others.
Think of the people in your life that you love and support without question. The people in your life that they know they can count on that you have their backs. They know they can count on you when the chips are down and you will rush to their side and support them through the challenges they are facing. The devotion you show to family, spouse, partner, children, friends, and co-workers, that they know they can count on. That type of devotion is rare! It’s love in active practice, it’s love with its feet on the ground, its the amazing impact you make on the people’s lives that you touch, that is truly something to give yourself credit for!
When we think of others in our community, those who are less fortunate, or people where the playing field has not been equal for them compared to others, anyway we can help as a community allows us to put our love in action towards our fellow humans. At Crystal Clear Home we have dedicated ourselves to taking a more active role in the community, giving back to people, and making sure our voices and votes are heard to help BIPOC people combat the systemic racism that is in our country. If you find this rings true for you, the links we have provided above will give you a way to make your voice heard through donations, volunteering, and creating and signing petitions to raise awareness in our community and our country.
